Based near Scotch Corner, I am very fortunate to be able to keep my horses at home. Due to regularly working away for a merchant bank, I had the horses on full livery until 18 months ago

when my lifestyle saw a huge change resulting in me setting up my own little PR, marketing and journalism business (working with racing and equestrian brands). I also work at Richmond Equestrian Centre managing the centre including the liveries and tenants.

We also have a little business breeding and training Labradors and spaniels - we currently have fourteen including three puppies and this is really taking off so between work, horses, dogs and a non-horsey other half things are never dull!

I currently have four horses in work and out competing. My main love is eventing but I also compete in affiliated dressage and showjumping and combine this with hunting through the winter. Below is a brief overview of the horses currently in work:

Springsteen Sam - a well known horse on the circuit due to his size. Although a British Sports Horse (by Catherston Springsteen) he is 18hh but a real gentle giant. He has competed at Novice / 1* level successfully but sadly due to an injury sustained at the start of the 2017 season he has had some time off. We had retired him from eventing however after we discovered TumerAid by The Golden Paste Company he is back and raring to go!

Cointreau - rising six he is seriously talented but is known as Goon as he still loves to play and mess around. He contested a number of young horse classes last year including at Bramham and competed at BE100 level. At 17hh he still has plenty of developing and as a partnership we are on a steep learning curve but we will get there I am sure!

Atlantic Allstar (Storm) – an ex racehorse who has taken to eventing like a duck to water. He has given me my biggest successes to date with rosettes nearly every time we are out. Sadly he picked up an injury at the start of the season so is currently off but hopefully he will be back with a bang towards the middle of the season.

Final Chapter (Melvyn) - an ex-racehorse who was in training with Tim Easterby. He is very smart and I think a lot of him. He is my sixth ex-racer who I have retrained and produced. He is only four but is loving his new career. He has started his retraining and has been getting out and about learning about coloured poles (he was a flat horse and bred to win a Derby).
