Hi everyone!

April has been a busy horsey month (nothing new there!) and started with my sister Rebecca and I being asked to be examiners for the Pony Club Area 2 Horse and Pony Care competition - this was a very enjoyable day and it was a great privilege to be asked.

I also thought this would be a good time to turn our hands (and hooves!) to dressage, taking part in British Dressage’s Team Quest and My Quest competitions around the North region. I am a proud member of a team called ‘More Gin for the Win’ and this has been a perfect opportunity to get Zac out dancing again and give him a bit of a break from eventing. Some of his results include: Northallerton Equestrian Centre – Zacrys Island, My Quest, N27 1st Place Team Quest 1st Richmond Equestrian Centre – Zacrys Island, My Quest N34 4th place Team Quest 1st Holmside Hall – Zacrys Island, My Quest N34 1st place Team Quest 1st I have also been spending time getting to know my newest ride Popeye, owned by Pip Hahn.

It’s been a productive time, having received training from showjumping coach Sarah Tubbs and Pip herself for dressage. I’m looking forward to seeing our partnership progress as we tackle our first British Eventing competitions over the coming months. With my Pony Club A test looming the books have been out and favours called to practice riding test-standard horses – tuition for this test in our area is quite hard to come by!

I have also welcomed Lowry to our yard and a new addition to the team. They say the best ones come when you’re not looking, so I have everything crossed for our future together.
Until next time, Emi
