Starting the year off a little differently... by Morwenna Foster

So my first blog of the year probably starts a bit different to most. I have been lucky enough to spend the last month travelling around Australia and New Zealand. I had the most amazing time and really benefited from the break as I have come back feeling refreshed and keen to get the season started.

I have three horses kept at home and one I ride for owners locally. My main girl is Maisie (Dash of Lime). I have had her since she was five and have evented up to Novice level. We have even made it to Badminton in the BE100 Mitsubishi Motors Cup. Unfortunately last year she sustained an injury to her stifle so is currently turned away to recover.

I also have a lovely Connie x called Ruby who I brought unbroken and have been producing over the last 18 months. She is an awesome hunting pony and I am hoping to compete her this year in a variety of disciplines to gain her some experience.

I am also very lucky to have had a new boy offered to me on loan this year whilst Maisie is out of action. Zandi was based at my instructors yard and has experience up to Novice level, so will give me the opportunity to compete at that again. It is early days but I am looking forward to getting to know him better and begin competing.

Pip is a lovely boy whom I ride for owners and compete at riding club level but we are hopefully going to try some local British Eventing events too.

It's going to be a busy year but I am so excited to get started!
