Brand Ambassador News: Goals for 2024 including Agility, Obedience and Crufts

Meet our Brand Ambassadors: Bourbon, Paisley and Eleven

We are Heather, Bourbon (10), Paisley (9) and Eleven (2). We compete in multiple dog sports but mainly Agility, Obreedience and Rally Obedience. We are also heavily involved in the Good Citizen display teams at Crufts. We have been using Tumeric supplements from The Golden Paste Company for about 8 years now and I swear by it! I feel it’s absolutely benefitted my dogs not only in joint care, but also in coat condition and more importantly we hope it can help us prevent cancer.

Crufts 2024: Goals and Objectives

Our goals for 2024 are; To SMASH Obreedience at Crufts 2024 with our fantastic team mates and best friends Charlie, Violet and Caroline and their awesome Cockers Buzz, Charlie and Luna, but most of all we aim to just have the best day ever! We are also helping a friend start her new Obreedience team this year. My aim is to enjoy competing with my girls this year, as every year, but to make the most of an aging Bourbon, who has just turned 10 and to love every second of a new and exciting youngster, Eleven who's Agility skills are really coming on incredibly well now!

My objective is to lead the upcoming awesome Good Citizen team to participate in ring displays at Crufts. I also aspire to mentor the team and contribute to and be a part of the Main Arena display again this year Ultimately, I aim to enjoy the last two months of Gundog work for my girls fulfilment and pure joy. It brings me immense satisfaction to see them engage in a variety of activities that align with their breeding and what they love so much. Additionally, I look forward to making an appearance alongside The Golden Paste Company on their stand at Crufts. With a more confident Eleven by my side, I anticipate enjoying the experience even more.

Preparation for our various sports and teams requires a significant amount of time. Eleven is currently training twice a week for agility; Bourbon and Paisley just once a week to keep their fitness up. For muscle toning and core strength we do exercises at home on their very own gym equipment and the dogs have regular appointments with a physio/chiropractor pre and post agility 'season'. We train with our Obreedience team every couple of months as we all live quite far apart but we train at heats too.

A Key Factor To Successfully Training Dogs

During January to March, we train fortnightly for our two Crufts display teams.  Eleven is just about to start a competition obedience class to bring her obedience skills up to scratch with a view to taking over from Bourbon in Obreedience should she need to step back a little. An important key factor to success is diet and lifestyle. My dogs are raw fed, with plenty of variety and I avoid processed foods, flour, excessive carbs, starchy root veg, and grains. I try to maintain a healthy gut microbiome and include beneficial supplements. It's vitally important to me that I include joint supplements such as The Golden Paste Company’s high quality turmeric paste and Green Lipped muscle. Fresh food is vitally important too and I include plenty of greens, mushrooms, berries, green bananas, and PLENTY of eggs from our own quails!
