Where is our Turmeric from?
Having worked with Turmeric for many years, we have done plenty of research and testing on the different types of Turmeric available. In the western world, Turmeric has become increasingly popular over the last few years. As a consequence to this, there is higher risk of Turmeric supply being cut with other things such as potato starch, lead etc. to make the Turmeric go further.
Our products are formulated with the highest quality ingredients and this philosophy is not compromised when sourcing our Turmeric.
The Turmeric we purchase from Indonesia is a different variety compared to that which originates from India, Java Turmeric is Curcuma longa rather than Curcuma xanthorrhiza; Java turmeric also has a more higher essential oil content than Indian, and it has extra phenolic compounds not found in Indian grown Turmeric.
They are also processed differently in the field/primary process; Indian turmeric undergoes a steaming step in the fields before sun drying the whole root, where as Java material is sliced before sun drying. Naturally, the Curcumin levels will fluctuate depending on the crop. We have an agreement that our Turmeric contains a minimum of 5% Curcumin in all our product ranges.
Our Turmeric is ethically sourced from local Indonesian farmers.

Turmeric is native to the Indian Subcontinent and Southeast Asia.

Curcumin, as one of over 200 compounds within Turmeric, is the main active ingredient in Turmeric. It is a strong antioxidant, and has a metabolic effect in the natural inflammation cycle of the body’s defence mechanisms.

No. Both TurmerAid™ and The Golden Paste already contains Oil and cracked Black Pepper to optimise bioavailability.

Bioavailability is the ease with which any nutrient can make its way from the food eaten into the body.

We would recommend you stick to the feeding guidelines given. If your horse does consume significantly more than this, we would recommend you consult your Veterinary Surgeon.

TurmerAid™ can be fed safely to laminitics as part of a high fibre, low sugar and starch diet.

As well as Turmeric, our TurmerAid™ contains Linseed Oil to help maintain a healthy and shiny coat, freshly cracked Black Pepper to help bioavailability, Yucca to support digestion and Apple Cider Vinegar to increase palatability.

As manufacturers of quality feeds, we are members of the Universal Feed Assurance Scheme (UFAS). As such we can only source guaranteed products and blend them to declared nutrient levels. We analyse according to written procedures that are independently audited, so we can confirm the levels in every batch.

TurmerAid™ is the complete Turmeric supplement for horses and ponies. It is a very palatable and convenient way to feed Turmeric to your horse. It is mess-free and requires no mixing with other ingredients, because it has been uniquely formulated, containing all the necessary ingredients to optimise the bioavailability of the key functional ingredients.

For smaller ponies (under 300kg) 1 Tbsp, twice daily

There is no need to soak TurmerAid™. The beauty of this product is that it can be mixed with dry or wet bucket feeds. It can even be fed by hand.

Yes, you can. TurmerAid™ is easily digested and contains components that support the mucosal lining in the stomach, and help in the normal function of the stomach. However, we would recommend you consult your Veterinary Surgeon first to ensure this does not interfere with your horse’s Veterinary treatment plan.

Although people assume the pungency of pepper irritates the stomach, there is no evidence to support this. In fact, pepper, and other ingredients in TurmerAid™, contain components that sustain normal gastric physiology.

Yes. Turmeric for dogs helps support their inflammatory cycles and other issues that arise from oxidative stress.

Turmeric: We believe in the whole root rather than just an extract as turmeric is made up of over 200+ compounds that synergistically work together. Our curcumin levels will never be lower than 5.1%. We source from Indonesia rather than India due to quantities of lead being found in some sources of Indian grown turmeric.

Yes. Safe to feed from puppy through to elderly dog.

Yes, but should be fed to the pre-gravid weight of the mother.

Introduce into their diets with a pea-sized amount for the first week.
Small (Under 15kg) Increase to ¼ teaspoon twice a day.
Medium (15-30kg) Increase to ½ - ¾ teaspoon twice a day.
Large (over 30kg) Increase to 1 teaspoon twice a day.
