Turmeric for Dogs

Turmeric is a popular supplement for dogs as it can support them with various ailments and illnesses due to its antioxidant properties that also influence anti-inflammatory processes and microbial populations.

Turmeric is available in paste, capsule or slice form to suit all dogs and their taste buds! Feeding turmeric powder alone is not effective as the body cannot easily absorb it; so, it must be combined with other specific ingredients. We have formulated specialist supplements to ensure your dog receives the maximum benefits of turmeric.

What are the benefits of turmeric for dogs?

Turmeric contains a high number of bioactives (active compounds) which impact over a wide range of physiological stress activities.

Stress activity is a situation which causes physical or physiological stress (joint degradation, microbial infection), metabolic dysfunction (insulin resistance, unbalanced nutrition) or simply the mechanism of aging; in the majority of cases it causes the body to react in a predictable manner.

Many of our customers feed turmeric for its anti-oxidant properties to support the following:

  • Arthritis
  • Digestion
  • Cancer
  • Coat and Skin
  • Joint heath
  • General wellbeing

The natural supplements that The Golden Paste Company offer are especially great if your pets (or you) suffer from any joint pain or arthritis, thanks to its support of anti-inflammatory properties.

Why are antioxidants useful?

Oxidative products can be generated by inefficiencies of biochemical pathways. Some oxidative processes generate free radicals, which can also be found in the environment. Antioxidants, such as curcumin (the active ingredient in turmeric), maintain metabolic efficiency and help optimise free radical release.

Are there any known side effects of feeding turmeric to dogs?

Turmeric has been shown to have a number of beneficial characteristics and is safe to feed to dogs (and cats). It does, however, need a dedicated delivery system, such as TurmerEase™, to fully support the biological systems it targets.

If your pet is on any medication speak to your vet before feeding turmeric to check that there are no known interactions.

Why should I purchase ready to use Golden Paste?

The Golden Paste Company’s Turmeric Golden Paste for Pets is specifically formulated to enhance the bioavailability of turmeric and uses only the best quality ingredients to ensure you are purchasing an effective product.

Our turmeric is not irradiated or steam treated to preserve the key components and curcumin levels are 5.1% minimum. Other ingredients include cold pressed and organic coconut oil, apple cider vinegar, black pepper and ceylon cinnamon.

Simply add to your pet’s daily feeds or alternatively when you feel the turmeric supplement is required. It is so quick and easy to use and you can also freeze to extend the shelf life. If your dog doesn’t like the taste why not try our tasty TurmerEase chicken slices!

How do I feed Turmeric Capsules to my dog?

Some dogs will actually take the capsule whole as a treat (Labradors we’re looking at you!) but some owners add the capsule to food, either whole or open the capsule and sprinkle on.
